Remedy Entertainment and 505 Games released a Control: Ultimate Edition teaser trailer which revealed the release date of both the digital and physical versions for next-gen consoles.
The trailer shows Director Jesse Faden wandering around the always eery Federal Bureau of Control while teasing the display and gameplay options available in the Ultimate Edition. The Ultimate Edition of the third-person action-adventure video game will be released digitally on Feb. 2, 2021, and physically on March 2, 2021.
According to Remedy Entertainment, the Ultimate Edition comes with a 60fps Performance Mode as well as a 30fps Graphics Mode with ray tracing. Control: Ultimate Edition will bundle the original game with all of its gameplay expansions, and was first made available for PC consoles on the one-year anniversary of the game's initial release. Come Feb. and March 2021, it will also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
On top of that, players who purchased Control originally on PS4 and Xbox One will be able to upgrade the game for free once it becomes available on the next-gen consoles.
Control received two expansion packs after its release, which included "Expansion 1: The Foundation" and "Expansion 2: AWE," a crossover with Alan Wake, another of Remedy's popular titles. Control's main storyline follows Jesse Fayden as she investigates the mysterious disappearance of her brother while defending herself against paranormal forces with her supernatural abilities.
Developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by 505 Games, Control: Ultimate Edition will be released for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X digitally on Feb. 2, 2021 and physically on March 2, 2021.
