Zebulon, N.C. — The Wake County Sheriff’s Office cited a woman Sunday with violating North Carolina's restriction on large gatherings during the coronvirus pandemic after finding a crowd at a concert near Zebulon.
Shortly before 9 p.m., deputies went to 6221 Lula Ridge St. in response to a loud noise complaint. They saw between 150 to 200 people gathered outside the home for a concert.
Gov. Roy Cooper has issued executive orders that limit outdoor gatherings to 50 people to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Nanci Morales-Gonzales, who was identified as the event coordinator, was cited with participating in a mass gathering outdoors, a misdemeanor.
The home is advertised online as Rancho La Cabaña, and another concert is set for next Sunday, according to an online listing. But a man who answered the phone number listed on the advertisement said Monday that no further concerts would be held because of the state restrictions.
