About 1,200 UNK students, employees and Kearney community members came out for the first-ever Spring Block Party on Thursday night near Cope Fountain. The event featured food trucks, live music, inflatables, games and prize drawings.
Kearney band, The Innocence, opened the evening with a setlist of 1980s, ’90s and current rock, pop and Top 40 hits. Well-known radio personality and California-based artist Curtis Westbrooks, known as DJ Green, closed out the night. Food trucks included Nick’s Gyros, Nomad Pizza, Sam Que and Catering and Tropical Sno. Attendees also enjoyed archery tag, a photo booth and escape trailer.
The party was hosted by Loper Programming and Activities Council and the Residence Hall Association.
