Plenty has been made of the Warriors' numerous options for the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming 2020 NBA Draft. Some intriguing prospects stand out from the draft class, and many have postulated that the pick potentially could be traded as part of a package to get a more established NBA player who can help smooth the Warriors' return to contention in 2020-21.
While reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo remains the most widely discussed potential trade target for Golden State (however realistic it might be), Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal is a name that has popped up in some potential packages involving the No. 2 pick. On ESPN's "Pardon The Interruption" Friday, Mike Wilbon explained why he believes the deal could be beneficial for Washington.
"If I was Washington, and I could get Andrew Wiggins and a pick, I might do it," Wilbon said. "Andrew Wiggins on the Warriors is the fourth-most important player.
"He's a hell of a player when he's the fourth most important player, not so much when it's first or second," Wilbon said. "It changes the dynamic completely for Andrew Wiggins."

Wilbon's point is puzzling to say the least. Wiggins might be the fourth-most important player on the Warriors, but in a hypothetical swap involving Beal, Wiggins would become the No. 2 option behind point guard John Wall for the Wizards.
We've seen Wiggins as the No. 2 option before with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and he wasn't nearly as effective overall.
Beal would be a phenomenal addition to the Warriors' roster, and hypothetically could start at shooting guard with Klay Thompson sliding to small forward. A starting lineup of Steph Curry, Beal, Thompson, Draymond Green and Marquese Chriss would be among the league's best.
But Wilbon's logic for Washington being interested in this trade is flimsy. Why would they give up a dynamic All-Star player like Beal, who is locked up on a max contract for the next two years, with a player option for the 2022-23 season.
General manager Bob Myers likely would consider this deal a win for the Warriors, but it's hard to imagine a sensible GM agreeing to that deal from the Wizards' perspective.
Don't get your hopes up, Warriors fans.
