Three people have been arrested after a large crowd tried to gain entry to an event at a bar in Nottingham.
Police said crowds had gathered to attend the event at The Cornerhouse at about 23:45 BST on Thursday.
The venue called officers after it said it was already full and "had a large crowd trying to gain entry and unwilling to leave".
Parts of Burton Street and South Sherwood Street were shut for about an hour while the situation was resolved.
Nottinghamshire Police said no members of the public sustained injuries.
The three people arrested were held for being drunk and disorderly, possession of a Class B drug and possession of an offensive weapon.
A spokesperson for The Cornerhouse said: "We are aware of a serious incident that took place at The Cornerhouse in Nottingham just before midnight last night.
"A large crowd attempted to gain entry to an event at one of the bars in the centre.
"Our own security teams and the police responded swiftly when it became clear that the crowds were unwilling to leave."
The Cornerhouse said it would be liaising with police to investigate the causes of the incident.
