Mankato, Minn. ---  With the inaugural Kwik Trip Bend of the River Fall Festival just weeks away on Saturday, September 17, Minnesota State officials have announced several details related to parking, traffic control, and spectator arrival.

Free event parking will be provided in Lots 20-23 courtesy of the Minnesota State Alumni Association (see map).  From those lots, for those purchasing tickets or for those fans with pre-purchased tickets, access to the concert bowl on the football practice fields west of Blakeslee Stadium will be at the main gate off of Stadium Road.

For those desiring reserved, paid parking, Lot 2 west of the concert bowl is available for that purpose.  A limited capacity of 300 premium parking permit passes reserved for parking in that lot will be pre-sold for $20 at the following link: www.msumavericks.com/premiumparking.    The parking area will be just steps away from the concert bowl "back gate entrance" off of Ellis Avenue, which is also the designated point of entry for on-campus foot traffic arriving from the north.

Unlike football, there will be no tailgating allowed in any University parking lots before or after the concert and fans are reminded that the University Square area across the street on Stadium Road are private business parking lots and are not available for use by those attending the event. Other details about the festival, including the schedule, FAQ's, and ticket information are available at: https://bendoftheriverfestival.com/.

MSU Director of Athletics, Kevin Buisman, and one of the University's primary liaisons to the event organizers, is enthused about seeing years of planning finally coming to fruition. "We first started discussing this event in 2020, but those plans were de-railed by COVID, so we are very excited for this to finally happen. We are grateful to Jerry Braam, Robyn James, Mike Drummer and the rest of their team for bringing this vision to life."

"Sponsor and corporate support has been strong, and we appreciate our partnership with the Alumni Association to make free parking available on the day of the event," Buisman continued.  "We can't wait to open the gates to fans that day, as we know this provides another opportunity to bring everyone together and shine a spotlight on the great things happening here at Minnesota State and throughout our community."
