The transportation department at Marysville Schools recently held the 1st Time Rider event. The 1st Time Rider event is for families with young children that are new to the district, new to riding a school bus or want to learn more about school bus transportation. The purpose of this event is to engage the Marysville community and our student families by providing an opportunity to learn about different school bus styles, become comfortable with riding a school bus and learn about school bus safety. This year’s event was a HUGE success! We had over 200 people in attendance with more than 100 children participating in the day’s activities. In addition, everyone had the opportunity to interact with a Marysville police officer and police dog Mercy, meet Buster the robotic school bus and Simple the Lion. With the help of the Marysville FFA, participants enjoyed face painting, popsicles, kettle popcorn and ice cold water. It was an amazing day filled with fun and excitement for the young kids of our community.
