Regarding “Prayer Belongs in the Closet” (Letters, April 29): The hypocrites described by Jesus were praying in public to draw attention to themselves and curry favor in a populace that was overwhelmingly Jewish. Coach Joe Kennedy prayed in public at a place that was so hostile to his show of faith, he lost his job. The two situations are not at all analogous.
