DURHAM – Behind another dominant offensive performance, eighth-ranked Duke cruised to a 20-3 victory over Davidson Sunday afternoon in women's lacrosse action.

With the win, the Blue Devils improve to 10-1 and hand the Wildcats their first loss of the season (6-1). Duke's 10-1 record is tied for the best start in 11 games since 2015 when Kerstin Kimel's squad reached the NCAA semifinal game.

Senior Maddie Jenner saw a historic afternoon, breaking Duke's all-time draw control record. With her 11 today, she now owns 515 career draw controls, surpassing the previous record of 512 held by her sister, Olivia. Jenner also added a goal in today's win as Duke dominated the draw circle with 21 draws to Davidson's five.

"I'm just so proud of Maddie," Kimel said. "She represents our program, Duke Athletics and Duke University in the best possible way that someone ever could."

Over her career, she has tallied 10 or more draw controls 28 times and owns a career-high 21. She has been instrumental in winning the draw and awarding Duke possession the past four years.

Duke nearly cleared its bench in a win that saw 13 Blue Devils register points, led by graduate student Catriona Barry with six points (4G, 2A). Sophomore Katie DeSimone (3G, 1A) and junior Olivia Carner (2G, 2A) each added four while Katie Keller, Anna Callahan, Katie Cronin and Maddie McCorkle added two points each. Cronin became the 32nd player in program history to reach the 100-point plateau with her two goals today.

Duke leads the nation in goals per game and it was on full display this afternoon in Koskinen. Duke took a commanding 13-0 lead at halftime and did not let up in the second half with an additional seven points. Davidson registered its first goal of the contest at 10:26 in the fourth quarter as Duke's offense and defense stifled the Wildcats.

Barry and DeSimone each registered hat tricks with eight minutes left in the opening frame as the dynamic duo was unstoppable. Leading 9-0 after one period, Caroline DeBellis, Carner, Keller and Barry extended the lead to 13-0 at the break. Carner has scored at least one goal in 10 of Duke's 11 games this season.

Duke outshot Davidson 8-1 in the third quarter as Cronin tallied consecutive goals to push her past the 100-point plateau.

Leading 19-0, Ainsley Thurston notched Duke's final goal of the contest with 12:30 remaining before Davidson notched three goals to close out the game. Erin Cooke paced the Wildcats' offense with two assists for two points.

Graduate student Katie Cosgrove tallied three draw controls and two ground balls while junior defender Cubby Biscardi added two ground balls and two caused turnovers.

Freshman goalkeeper Kennedy Everson got the start between the pipes for Duke and tallied three saves. Duke is fortunate to have a deep goalkeeping squad and used that this afternoon with four different goalkeepers.

Amanda Monahan was in goal for the Wildcats and made six saves in just over 30 minutes of action.

"We divide our seasons into thirds," Kimel said. "We just finished our second third and now we're going into the last third. It's a tough stretch but we're prepared for it."

Duke will next travel to No. 16 Notre Dame Saturday, March 26 for a 1 p.m., contest in South Bend.
