Just in time for summer rodeo and fair season, Governor Mark Gordon announced Wednesday afternoon updated public health orders further easing restrictions at public gatherings, allowing up to 250 people, according to a release from the Governor’s Office.
“It’s time we had the chance to enjoy summer,” Gordon said. “The ability to gather outdoors in larger groups will be good for Wyoming citizens, businesses and our communities as we enter the season.”
The updated orders, effective June 1, include continued restrictions regarding social distancing and increased sanitization at sporting events, rodeos and other events. Event hosts and organizers will be asked to screen staff for symptoms of COVID-19 prior to events and ensure adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) is available. Additionally, event food and beverage vendors will be required to follow the provision for restaurants outlined in Public Health Order No. 1.
At this time, indoor events and gatherings, other than religious gatherings and other exemptions listed in the order, will continue to be restricted to groups of 25 or less, per Gordon, and no significant changes have been made with regard to the updated Public Health Orders 1 and 3.
“We are not out of the woods yet though,” he added. “So, please use good judgement and don’t jeopardize yourself and others by acting recklessly. We want to keep moving forward.”
