LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control is asking for information regarding a stray puppy found on Maple Avenue Friday morning.
Cruelty investigator Lt. Jai Hamilton said the puppy is around nine-months-old and is extremely thin and weak.
The dog has tested positive for parasites, but Hamilton said she is hopeful he will pull through.
“People are horrified that this puppy had been neglected in this way. I mean, this dog is so sweet-natured and so adorable. We don’t understand how people can fail such a sweet, innocent creature,” Hamilton said.
Animal Care & Control is looking for leads about who owned this puppy or who was caring for it.
