‘Numerous’ shots fired, 2 people wounded as police break-up large crowd and fights in Downtown Peoria - 25 News Now

PEORIA (25News Now) - Peoria Police say a man and a woman were wounded early Sunday when ‘numerous’ shots were fired early Sunday in Downtown Peoria.

Police said they were called about 3:45 a.m. to the 500 block of North Main Street where a large crowd had gathered and there were many shots.

While dispersing the crowd, police said “numerous” shots were fired nearby in the 600 block of Hamilton Boulevard.

Police said they found no victims there, but a man and woman were taken to a local hospital by private vehicle. Their injuries, according to police, were not life-threatening.

There have been no arrests, and police did not provide information about any suspects in Monday’s news release.
