CHATTANOOGA---The Chattanooga Mocs wrestling program took over the football tailgating space at the First Horizon Pavilion Saturday morning. The squad put on an 11-match display showing what's to come during the 2022-23 campaign.
It started with a Logan Ashton tech fall and ended with Logan Andrew's major decision. That was the deciding match as Andrew's triumph 11-3 over Ryan Stein provided a 25-22 winning margin for the Gold.

11: Logan Andrew (Gold) 11-3 maj. dec. against Ryan Stein (Blue)
"Both sides competed and provided an entertaining performance for our fans," Coach Kyle Ruschell shared. "It was a great chance to see our new transfers and freshmen in action, along with the guys we have back. I'm impressed at the way we've jelled, and I think our fans got a good first look at that."
Included in the action were preseason All-SoCon selections Brayden Palmer (133) and Rocky Jordan (174). Palmer scored a 9-0 major decision for the Gold squad, while Jordan provided a 16-1 tech fall in scoring for the Blue.
The season officially begins on November 5 in Jacksonville, Fla. The Battle in the River City features matches against Wisconsin, Little Rock and Buffalo. The first home match is Dec. 10 when the Iowa Hawkeyes come to the Scenic City. That match is part of a doubleheader with the men's basketball team in McKenzie Arena with the wrestlers taking over in prime time.
