Remedy Likely Hiring for Control 2 or New Alan Wake - GameRant

Remedy Entertainment has made a name for itself in the gaming industry through its innovative style and thought-provoking themes. Alan Wake and Control are commonly hailed as some of the best games of the past decade with each winning several awards after their launch. Players have noticed several connections between Remedy's modern flagship titles and allusions to the 2010 psychological thriller within Control. A recent job listing from Remedy suggests that one of these two franchises may be receiving a new entry in the near future.

Control enticed and intrigued fans with the heavy paranormal themes and subjects the 2019 game explored. The game's exploration of "Altered World Events" and the overall focus on the supernatural resonated with the themes of the company's previous breakout hit in Alan Wake. Fans have noticed several Alan Wake easter eggs within Control and even subtle references to one of Remedy's older franchises, Max Payne. Now, Remedy is looking to continue the psychological stories of the Control universe, actively hiring for a position related to the series.

Through the company's Lever hiring site, Remedy Entertainment is looking to bring on a Lead Writer for a "key role working on the Control franchise." The position, located in Remedy's headquarters in Helsinki, Finland, seeks potential hirees with experience working on AAA multi-platform games to lead other writers involve with the project and work directly with the Game Director and Narrative Lead among others. A sequel to Alan Wake or Control has not been formally announced, but the listing specifically mentions the position's involvement with the future of the Control franchise.

While no official announcement has been made about the announcement of an Alan Wake or Control sequel, sequels to the popular thrillers have been rumored for quite some time. Rumors of an Alan Wake sequel have persisted for several years since the game's successful release with a sequel even confirmed to be in development at one time before being shelved to focus on Control. Control received multiple expansions adding to the game's universe and, earlier this year, Remedy announced a multiplayer Control spin-off titled Condor.

Fans of the Control and Alan Wake universe recently saw an opportunity to experience the 2010 franchise's roots in a brand new light with the release of Alan Wake Remastered earlier this month. The remake features visual upgrades and new developer commentaries to bring something to the table for both new fans experiencing the game for the first time and old fans diving back into the twisted town of Bright Falls. Alan Wake and Control are two of the most unique titles in the modern gaming industry and a sequel to either of the two will hopefully carry the same mind-bending action the franchises are known for.

Control is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and Stadia.
