GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Kirby Smart and Dan Mullen made their usual appearance on the Southeastern Conference coaches media teleconference Wednesday.
They go back-to-back, with Smart's weekly slot scheduled right before Mullen's. While both teams have a bye week before they meet in Jacksonville in 10 days, the mood around the programs is currently the polar opposite of one another.
No. 1-ranked Georgia (7-0, 5-0) has won 11 consecutive games since losing 44-28 to the Gators a season ago, while Florida (4-3, 2-3) is coming off a deflating loss at LSU that did not go over well in Gator Nation.
Wondering which side belongs to your team? This year, Florida will be seated on the west side of the stadium and Georgia will be on the east!

So, after Smart was peppered with questions about managing expectations as the top-ranked team, his dominant defense and what he likes most about the Bulldogs, Mullen faced a different tone from reporters.
They wanted to know who the team's starting quarterback was, whether he had fired anyone on the defensive staff since the 49-42 loss in Baton Rouge on Saturday, and what the Gators must do to turn their season around.
Both coaches have been on each side of the public-opinion fence during their careers. For now, Smart is on the good side, and Mullen on the bad side as their teams prepare for a weekend off.
