Courtland Park was opened last Saturday evening to a large crowd, in fact the crowd in attendance was of the largest that ever attended a social event at the park. The floor was in excellent shape and the music furnished by Wahl’s orchestra of the best.
The dance floor is situated in a picturesque grove of trees making it an ideal place for Tehama county pleasure seekers. One distinct feature of the event last Saturday was the splendid manner in which the dance was conducted. Jerry Meyers, a local boy, is floor manager and he is rapidly earning the title of the best floor manager in northern California. Meyers has a reputation of conducting clean dances, which has been the policy of the park for many years.
Further improvements are to be made in addition to enlarging the platform. Courtland Park bids to be the social center during the coming summer months judging from the large attendance Saturday night. Dances will be given every Saturday night.
