PEORIA (WEEK) -- The COVID-19 pandemic has claimed another Peoria-based event.

Organizers of the Greater Peoria Farm Show announced Monday the event has been officially canceled.

It was rescheduled to take place March 9-11, but due to ongoing restrictions on group sizes, "the Peoria Civic Center does not expect to be able to host events of more than 50 people through the spring of 2021," according to a press release.

“We are disappointed to be canceling the show. However, we are actively shifting our focus towards the next Greater Peoria Farm Show, scheduled for November 30 through December 2, 2021,” said John K. Riles, president of Midwest Shows. “This show will provide a great opportunity to celebrate the return to a more normal routine with the area’s agricultural community. We are looking forward to a great show.”

The Greater Peoria Farm Show features more than 300 exhibits to showcase the latest in agricultural equipment and services, along with educational seminars.
