A white supremacist who told police he’s a leader in the Ku Klux Klan drove his pick-up truck into a crowd of people peacefully protesting in Richmond, Virginia over the weekend, authorities said.

Henrico County Police said a “cursory glance” of 36-year-old Harry H. Rogers’ social media accounts, as well as his own admissions show that he’s a member of the group, USA Today reported.

CBS 6 News said Rogers is the “self-proclaimed president of the Virginia KKK.”

Witnesses told police that Rogers, a Hanover, Virginia resident, drove down the median of a Richmond highway, before revving his engine and driving into the crowd of protesters, CBS reported. One person reportedly said Rogers was parked at the scene and waiting for protesters before the incident happened.

One person suffered minor injuries, USA Today said.

The demonstration was related to George Floyd’s death, similar to many across the country.

CBS reported that authorities are looking into charging Rogers with hate crimes.

He is due back in court in August, according to news reports.
