ERIE TOWNSHIP — Three people were killed when a car spun out of control and rolled in the median of the construction zone on Interstate 75 Friday night.

The victims’ identities were not available but it is believed they are from the Detroit area.

Police reported the accident occurred about 10:15 p.m. on southbound I-75 at Summit St. in the construction zone. A passenger car with three people was headed south on I-75.

The car left the roadway and rolled over in the grassy median. It then rotated several times before coming to rest in the southbound entrance ramp of Summit St. A vehicle traveling south on Summit then collided with the car.
