“America Strong” flyover brings crowd to Vint Hill - Fauquier Now

seliranga.blogspot.com
We expect a crowd and heavy traffic in Fauquier on the first Saturday of May.

That again proved true, even though the Virginia Gold Cup Association postponed its 95th steeplechase race meet that typically draws 50,000 spectators to Great Meadow.

A smaller crowd — perhaps a couple thousand people scattered at and around Vint Hill — came out to catch the “America Strong” flyover on its way to The National Mall in Washington, D.C.

At about 11:53 a.m., six fighter jets each from the elite U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and U.S. Navy Blue Angels appeared in the northwest sky.

The formation turned southeast and then north over the former Army base near New Baltimore as people waved and cheered.

The Blue Angels and Thunderbirds continued a series of unprecedented joint flyovers around the nation to honor healthcare workers and first responders on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The jets streaked toward D.C. and people lingered at Vint Hill, in nearby neighborhoods and around Lakes Ashby and Brittle to soak up the sun as the temperature hit 65.

And, as with Gold Cup, the traffic leaving Vint Hill created a backup took a while to clear. Under a bright, blue sky nobody seemed to mind.

What part of stay-at-home, social distancing, and wear a mask, do people not understand?

This is a fine example on being complacent and arrogant Americans. Can't get me CV-19 mentality on full view. Let the games begin!

Oh, forgot. and to pollute with their gas fumes, cigarette smoke, and dog poop.

Might as well of held the Gold Cup.

Rover 530 - It was a nice gesture, kind of like thoughts and prayers. By the look of the photos it didn't do anything to help save people's lives, it gave them an opportunity to gather CLOSE together WITHOUT masks and share their germs.

Very impressive. God bless America. Now, how did this help save people's lives during this COVID-19 pandemic?
