One person was hurt in a horse carriage crash Thursday night on the Knoxville city square. The crash happened just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday, according to Knoxville police, during the city's Living Windows Christmas event. "It was reported that a juvenile on a skateboard caused a loud noise by slamming the front wheels of a skateboard onto the concrete in the horse's blind spot," according to a news release from police. "This startled the horses and caused them to swerve into a group of people." "You gotta realize kids in town they don't get exposed to livestock and animals like your country kids and your 4H kids," said Denise Vrough of rural Knoxville. One person was taken to hospital after the incident. People KCCI spoke with in downtown Knoxville on Friday said it could have ended much worse."I think for a minute it kind of opened everybody's eyes like holy smokes like this could've been way worse. Carriage rides proceeded afterwards, I think it kind of just opened everybody's eyes to make sure they're being safe and watching out for everything that's going on around them," said Allyson Sedlock, a downtown business owner.
