Sheldon, Iowa — There is a community worship service held in conjunction with Sheldon Celebration Days each year, and the service held Sunday morning, during Celebration Days 2021 drew a huge crowd.

Sheldon First Reformed Church Pastor Paul Van Maaren says the interdenominational service drew more than three times as many worshipers as in previous years.

In past years, the service had been held in the City Park on Sunday evening, but Pastor Paul says this year it was moved to the RiseFest Grounds, with a time change as well.

Van Maaren says God provided beautiful weather for Sunday morning’s service.

Pastor Paul says the unity exhibited by Sunday morning’s service is only possible through the Lord.

In addition to the 625 people who attended Sunday morning’s Celebration Days Worship Service, as of mid-afternoon Sunday, more than 1,200 people had tuned to watch the video that had been streamed live on KIWA’s Facebook page.
