Letter: It’s arrogant to think humans can control the climate - Deseret News

seliranga.blogspot.com

David Ryser wrote about climate change and the need to vote for leaders “who will plan wisely” (“Letter: Climate change is melting alpine glaciers — and Utah’s precious snowpack,” Sept. 22). I think everyone knows climate change is happening today. It has for the many thousands of years the earth has existed. What is maddening is that many are so egotistical (I’m not accusing David of this; I don’t know him) that they think man can control what’s happening. Seriously? The earth has been heating and cooling since the beginning of time.

The danger in electing politicians that play to this crowd is that we end up paying extra for things we really can’t control. Don’t be fooled by those campaigning to cool us down if they’re elected. The earth will continue to do what the earth does — temperatures will continue to rise and fall.
