UPDATE: Police situation in Lancaster County ends with man taking his own life: DA
A Saturday afternoon hostage situation at a home in Mountville Borough, Lancaster County is now under control, according to news reports.
FOX 43 reported roadways in the area of East Main Street and Mulberry Road, which shut down during the incident, have seen reopened. The Lancaster CERT (Community Emergency Response Team), which included a negotiator, has left the scene.
The details of the situation remain unclear. According to FOX 43, the incident involved just one person.
Mountville residents were directed to avoid the area or shelter in place until the scene was cleared.
Lancaster County dispatch directed all questions on the incident to West Hempfield Township police. Township police were not immediately available to provide additional information.
