Syracuse, N.Y. -- Israeli drone company Blue White Robotics plans to establish a command center in the Technology Garden business accelerator in downtown Syracuse with financial assistance from the state.
The company said it will station an operations, marketing and sales team at the Harrison Street facility and create up to 30 jobs over the next five years.
Headquartered in Tel Aviv, Blue White Robotics has developed technology that allows a single command center to operate multiple remotely piloted drones used by the agricultural, public transportation, energy and mining industries, and first responders.
Empire State Development, New York’s economic development arm, will provide up to $300,000 in tax credits under the Excelsior Jobs Program. CenterState CEO will provide up to $1 million under the UAS Central Job Fund, a state-funded program that supports the creation of jobs in the unmanned aircraft systems industry in Central New York and the Mohawk Valley.
Blue White Robotics also recently secured $10 million in funding from private investors to support its growth in the U.S.
The total project cost has been placed at a little over $4 million.
A group of Israeli Air Force veterans started Blue White Robotics in Tel Aviv in 2017. It has been working with Easy Aerial from Brooklyn, a company that designs and manufactures autonomous drones and ground control systems, and Dropcopter from Syracuse, which uses drones to pollinate orchards.
The company said in June that it was attracted to Central New York by its ability to test and certify its technology in a 50-mile drone corridor being developed between Syracuse and Rome.
