The volleyball in the state of Nebraska is good.
There has never been a higher volleyball-only crowd witness a regular-season match. Wednesday night, 15,797 fans saw No. 2 Nebraska (6-0) fend off No. 17 Creighton (5-2) in five sets: 25-18, 25-23, 25-27, 17-25, 15-9.
The 13 highest attendance marks have been set in the state of Nebraska, with all of them involving the Huskers and five of those crowds occurring inside CHI Health Center Omaha.
The Huskers improved to 21-0 all-time against their in-state rival.
Despite history being against them, and hitting just .032 in the opening set, Creighton refused to go away. The Bluejays improved their hitting percentage to .210 through the fourth set.
In the fifth set, though, Nebraska smashed .407 and held Creighton to .167.
Nebraska hit .244 for the match.

Whiteney Lauenstein tied the sixth most kills in a match in program history during the rally scoring era with 25. Lauenstein committed just five errors on her 52 attempts.
Also taking more than 40 attacks each, Lindsey Krause notched 16 kills while Madi Kubik got 14.
Kaitlyn Hord anchored the defense with six of the team's nine blocks.
Going with a 6-2 for the third consecutive match, Nicklin Hames and Anni Evans handled the setting duties. Hames dished out 38 assists while Evans handed out 25.
Nebraska returns home Saturday to host Long Beach State (4-1). The Beach are led by former Husker assistant Tyler Hildebrand and feature former Husker Callie Schwarzenbach.
