Gary Peters is a Democratic senator from Michigan. He says he wants to implement “common sense” gun control.

“My Democratic colleagues all want to see some positive movement forward, so we have 50 votes there,” says Peters. “If we have five in discussion that gets us the 55, but the math still says we’re going to need more.”
