Firefighters continued to battle wildfires near Livermore and Vacaville on Friday morning after stopping their spread and gaining control of both blazes, officials said.

Crews near Livermore stopped the 253-acre Hollow Fire from advancing around 7 p.m. Thursday. The blaze started at about 5:30 p.m. near 16900 Tesla Road in southeast Livermore and spread quickly, according to Cal Fire. At one point, flames threatened two structures. Firefighters used helicopters and air tankers to help battle the blaze.

The fire was 90% contained Friday evening.

The Pleasants Fire, north of Vacaville and west of Winters near Highway 128, had burned 20 acres as of Friday morning after its spread was stopped late Thursday, according to Cal Fire. The blaze was 80% contained.

The fire, which started at about 8:45 p.m., was originally believed to be larger and evacuations were briefly ordered then lifted once crews stopped the fire’s progress.

Meanwhile, the Mineral Fire in Fresno County has grown to 23,000 acres, officials said. The blaze west of Coalinga ignited Monday and was 30% contained by Friday evening.

The Coyote Fire in San Benito County, which ignited Wednesday, was 1,508 acres and 98% contained by Friday evening, Cal Fire said.
