HOUSTON – A driver fleeing an exchange of gunfire between two other vehicles Monday lost control and crashed into a southwest Houston home.
“The car came into the window,” said Robin, who lives in the home into which the car crashed Monday.
Robin said her three children were upstairs and were not hurt.
“At this time we’ll just have to find a place of where to go where we’re going to stay for the evening. We have family, so thank God that’s good,” she said.
The shooting was reported near Airport and McClain boulevards.
According to Houston police, the driver was at a gas station across the street from the home when there was a shootout between people in two other vehicles. The driver took off, lost control, drove through the backyard of one home and then crashed into the kitchen of another.
Police said one of the vehicles involved in the shooting also sped away from the scene and crashed. The people in that vehicle ran from the scene.
Houston Police says the shooting occurred during a drug deal in the parking lot of a gas station at the 7900 block of W. Airport Blvd.
“One of the males was struck in the arm, he was transported to the hospital. He is expected to survive,” said Lt. Larry Crowson.
One person was hit in the arm by gunfire, police said. No other injuries were reported.
Police said the gunman struck another vehicle in an attempt to flee the scene.
“He fled after he struck the jeep and he’s at large,” Crowson said.
