ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have hired Chris Cook as an Offensive Quality Control Coach, the team announced Thursday.
Cook previously worked at the University of Akron as the Zips' tight ends and offensive tackles coach. He spent the last two seasons at Akron after previously coaching at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 2017-18. Cook worked with the tight ends and tackles at Chattanooga, which is his alma mater, and also served as a recruiting coordinator. At UT-Chattanooga, Cook worked with Justin Rascati, who was UTC's offensive coordinator. Rascati has served as an offensive quality control coach for the Broncos since 2019.
Prior to his time in Chattanooga, Cook served as a offensive quality control coordinator for a season at East Carolina University. He also has worked with the Duke football staff at their high school camps.
Cook has gained NFL experience over each of the last three years, as he participated in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship with the Cleveland Browns in 2020 and with the Atlanta Falcons in 2018 and 2019. In Atlanta, Cook worked alongside Broncos Tight Ends Coach Wade Harman, whose last coaching stint was with the Falcons.
Before his coaching career began, Cook was an All-American center for Chattanooga and played professionally in the Arena Football League for the Kansas City Brigade from 2007-09.
A North Carolina native, Cook spent time as the defensive coordinator at Independence High School in Charlotte before joining former Broncos wide receiver Scottie Montgomery's staff at ECU.
Cook has yet another Broncos connection, as he was defensive lineman Darius Kilgo's high school defensive line coach at Weddington High School in 2009.
